COLORFUL WINTER
We decided to go to Stobrawski Landscape Park to see if anything interesting was happening. There is a dead beech tree trunk lying there, which has become a habitat for many organisms, and most interestingly - different ones, in different seasons.
So maybe calling it - dead - is not reflecting reality? 😕
Winter - so it's worth seeing what lives there now.
We arrived, a light frost, sun and... no people - complete silence and quiet.

After a short walk we arrived at the place.
We were not disappointed - there is a lot going on.
We were not disappointed - there is a lot going on.
Already from a distance we could see yellow-orange "blooms" of some slime molds (I think slime molds 😕 ).
Up close they looked fantastic - frozen, wrappped with moss and covered by a blanket of snow.
After that it only got better.
In the cracks of the bark there were white growths visible - fungi/slime molds - unfortunately I don't know and perhaps I will never find out, but it doesn't change the fact that they look great in the photos - photo below.
I know it's all a matter of taste - nevertheless, we were delighted 😊
The frozen mushrooms also looked very nice, and there were several species.
I won't attempt to name them - I'm too weak and my attempts to find them on the Internet have been unsuccessful. Of course, this doesn't change the fact that they are pretty as no-named, anyway 😊
The icing on the cake were the mosses. They looked fantastic – especially the ones sticking out of the snow and “covered” in orange slime molds – title photo.
The only question that bothers me is - if winter is this colorful, what will happen in spring???! 🧐
