A CLOSE ENCOUNTER OF THE THIRD KIND
We are in Janikowo again.
What a different sight from last week.
A
week ago there was sun and swarms of hawtorns fly - insects flying in huge
flocks, of which I ate enough to say that they probably won't be on my menu. Not that I was deliberately catching them for consumption purposes - no - but they didn't even look where they were flying during the mating frenzy. 😊.

Now, however, after the last frost, the oaks are frozen and there will probably be no acorns this year. I think the huge energy expenditure needed to recreate the leaves will not leave enough energy for seeds (acorns) - it's a pity.

Nevertheless, life goes on. Due to the nice weather and quite high temperature, large numbers of butterflies who we have already seen - the green hairstreak butterflies - fly in the forest.
The Cladonia coccifera or madame's cup lichen with their red spores looked very nice.

I noticed an insect on the path - it was sitting calmly, pretending it
wasn't there - it looked like a large mosquito - it was even called a mosquito
- but it had nothing to do with mosquitoes - it was one of the marsh
crane fly.
It does not feed on blood, does not bite and is not dangerous to humans in
any way . So don't kill them !! Let him live in peace.
Just when the walk was most serene - an alien came out from the
forest onto the path??! My
"guard dog" dog immediately "activated" by barking at him
from a safe distance .
The alien turned out to be Mr. Piotr, whom I wrote about in one of my previous
posts entitled. TYTANS OF OAK FOREST , who monitors the oak forest for scientific purposes.
We took the opportunity to capture a close encounter of the third kind 😊
Coming back to the dog - remember that in the forest,
for the good of the dog and ours (tickets are issued for un kept dogs), we kept him on a leash. It is also worth checking whether dogs are allowed in areas whenever you go into nature. Every
dog has primal instincts and we don't know how it will behave in contact with
a wild animal.
Let me introduce you to Walker himself...
